Why SoulBox Requires Age Verification for Unrestricted AI Usage

It sucks, and it feels uncomfortable, but it's the policy

SoulBox was built to give adults private, powerful, flexible AI conversations without pretending every user wants the same sanitized experience.

That freedom comes with responsibility.

If a paid user wants to enable adult features, NSFW modes, unrestricted companion experiences, or any other high-trust feature inside SoulBox, age verification is not optional. It is a requirement.

Before unrestricted features can be enabled, the user must:

Agree to the SoulBox Terms of Service
Agree to the SoulBox Privacy Policy
Complete age verification
Be approved as eligible for adult/unrestricted features

No verification means no adult features.

That may sound strict, but it is the only sane way to operate a platform that allows private adult AI interactions while also protecting users, protecting the company, and keeping SoulBox from turning into a legal disaster with a login page.

Why Age Verification Is Required

SoulBox is not a basic chatbot wrapper.

We are building a multi-provider AI system with provider failover, meaning conversations can move between different AI providers depending on availability, response quality, restrictions, cost, and content handling.

For normal safe-mode conversations, that gives users a smoother and more reliable AI experience.

For adult or unrestricted conversations, that creates a higher level of responsibility.

SoulBox is designed so that if one provider blocks, filters, guardrails, or refuses certain adult content, the system can fail over to another supported provider. That may include less restrictive providers for both:

LLM responses
Speech synthesis
Voice-based conversation
Companion-style interactions

In plain English: if we are going to build infrastructure that can reliably process adult conversations, then we must also reliably verify that the user is an adult.

That is not a philosophical debate. That is operational reality.

Unrestricted AI access without age verification is how platforms walk directly into regulatory problems, payment processor problems, app store problems, hosting problems, and legal nightmares. We are not doing that.

Paid Plan Does Not Automatically Mean Adult Access

Having a paid subscription does not automatically unlock adult features.

A paid plan gives access to the features included in that plan, but adult or unrestricted features require a separate age verification step.

The flow is simple:

User signs up
↓
User chooses a paid plan
↓
User agrees to Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
↓
User attempts to enable adult / unrestricted features
↓
User completes age verification
↓
SoulBox receives verification result
↓
Adult features unlock only if verification succeeds

Payment proves that a user has an active billing relationship.

It does not prove that the user is old enough to use adult features.

That is why billing and age verification are treated as separate systems.

We Do Not Store Your Identity Documents

SoulBox does not want your driver’s license.

SoulBox does not want your passport.

SoulBox does not want your selfie verification image.

SoulBox does not want to become a database full of sensitive identity documents waiting for some future security incident to turn into a headline.

Age verification will be handled by a reputable third-party verification provider, such as Stripe Identity or another approved provider.

When you verify your age, the verification provider handles the sensitive identity workflow. SoulBox only receives the result needed to unlock or deny access.

SoulBox stores only limited verification metadata, such as:

Whether age verification passed
Verification status
Verification provider
Verification timestamp
Provider session reference

SoulBox does not store:

Raw ID documents
Passport images
Driver’s license images
Selfies
Full legal identity documents
ID numbers
Sensitive verification images

The goal is simple: verify eligibility without turning SoulBox into a vault of personal documents.

Billing and Age Verification Stay Separate

SoulBox uses Stripe for billing.

Age verification is handled separately from billing.

Even if Stripe is used for both billing and identity verification, these are separate Stripe systems with separate purposes. Your subscription payment and your identity verification are not merged into one giant SoulBox identity profile.

SoulBox does not combine your billing details and age verification documents into our own database.

We only keep the minimum account-level state needed to operate the product, such as:

Subscription active: yes/no
Age verified: yes/no
Adult features enabled: yes/no
Terms accepted: yes/no
Privacy Policy accepted: yes/no

That is the point.

We need to know whether you are allowed to use certain features.

We do not need to possess your sensitive identity documents to do that.

What SoulBox Sees

SoulBox may see normal billing-related information required to manage subscriptions, such as:

Stripe customer reference
Subscription status
Plan type
Payment status
Billing email or account email

For age verification, SoulBox only needs the verification result.

A typical internal account state may look like this:

User: active
Plan: Premium
Subscription: active
Terms accepted: true
Privacy Policy accepted: true
Age verification: verified
Adult features: enabled

That is enough.

We do not need to see, store, or manually review your private identity documents.

Why This Matters for Unrestricted AI

SoulBox is being built for adults who want private AI conversations with more control, more flexibility, and less forced corporate babysitting.

That includes features that may involve:

Adult conversations
Romantic companion modes
NSFW-enabled bots
Voice-based adult interactions
Custom AI personas
Talking avatar experiences
Device-based companion experiences
Private AI interactions routed across multiple providers

Because SoulBox is designed to support provider failover, adult features need a higher compliance standard.

If one provider refuses or filters adult content, SoulBox may route the request to another supported provider that can process it. That reliability is part of the product.

But that also means we cannot pretend age verification is optional.

If we build the system to make unrestricted adult AI actually work, then we also have to build the system to ensure only verified adults can access it.

That is the tradeoff.

More freedom requires stronger gates.

Terms of Service and Privacy Policy Are Required

Before adult features can be enabled, users must agree to the current SoulBox Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

This protects users and protects the platform.

The Terms of Service explain what is allowed, what is prohibited, and what responsibilities users accept when using unrestricted features.

The Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, what is not collected, how billing is handled, how verification status is stored, and how sensitive information is protected.

Adult feature access requires all three:

Terms of Service accepted
Privacy Policy accepted
Age verification completed

If any one of those is missing, unrestricted features remain locked.

What Happens If Verification Fails

If age verification fails, is canceled, or requires more input, adult features stay disabled.

The user may still have access to normal safe-mode features depending on their plan, but unrestricted features remain locked until verification is successfully completed.

A paid subscription does not override this requirement.

No verified age, no adult mode.

Very complicated. Somehow civilization continues.

The SoulBox Position

SoulBox is built for private, adult AI usage.

Not public chaos.

Not underage access.

Not fake compliance.

Not storing sensitive identity documents we do not need.

We are building the system around a simple principle:

Adults should be able to use powerful private AI systems, but unrestricted adult access must be gated behind real age verification.

That is how we protect users.

That is how we protect the platform.

That is how we keep SoulBox open enough to be useful without being reckless enough to become a legal piñata.
